The figure emerged slowly through the layers — perhaps that is why the face feels as though it is still being revealed.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWe often imagine becoming as a clear transformation, a single moment when the old version of us disappears and the new one confidently takes its place. Most of the time, it does not happen that way. We become in pieces: through every boundary we finally hold, every instinct we begin to trust, and every part of ourselves we stop changing to make other people comfortable.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe colors do not blend neatly. Marks overlap, interrupt, and move in different directions. Yet together they create someone whole.
