Quiet left me alone with everything I had been too busy to hear.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eBut the longer I stayed there, the more I understood that silence was not empty. It was where I returned to myself.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eHer eyes are closed not because she has given up, but because she no longer needs the outside world to confirm what she already knows. Everything around her still moves, yet something within her remains steady. This was one of my earliest pieces, and looking back I can see that I was already learning that strength does not always announce itself.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eSometimes strength looks like stillness. Sometimes it is choosing not to react. Sometimes it is sitting quietly long enough to recognize which thoughts belong to you and which ones were placed there by someone else.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eRoots do not grow where everyone can see them.
