Roots Remember

Sometimes I wonder if this is what people mean when they talk about magic.

Not magic in the sense of spells or certainty. The kind that happens when you're fully present.

Lately, my days have been filled with waves of emotion. Gratitude. Joy. Wonder. The kind that catches me off guard and leaves me sitting in complete awe of this life I'm building.

Most of those moments happen when I'm alone.

This morning I stood with my tree. My feet pressed into the earth. My hands resting against the bark. I closed my eyes and let the rain fall while my mind wandered through conversations no one else could hear.

Not because I believe the tree answers me with words.

But because something about being that grounded makes me feel connected—to the earth beneath me, the roots below, the rain above, the wind moving through the leaves, and to myself.

As the rain grew heavier, I caught myself smiling at the thought: What if it feels this way because I'm finally paying attention?

Maybe that's the real magic.

The world is constantly moving with energy we cannot see. Light. Sound. Wind. Gravity. The rhythm of life itself. We exist within all of it, even when we forget.

Sometimes I think we spend so much time trying to explain the world that we forget to experience it.

Maybe wonder doesn't need proof.

Maybe it just needs our presence.

As above, so below.
