Tide Between Worlds
When Words Hold Me
Healing isn’t one thing.
Sometimes it’s walking through the memory.
Step by step, reliving it in your mind.
The moments you tried to forget.
The moments you swallowed because the world demanded you be strong.
But sometimes healing is putting it into words.
Daydreams, tangled and messy in your head,
become sentences on a page.
The stories you hid,
the tears you refused to shed,
the moments you tucked inside yourself because no one was watching—
they all come out.
And suddenly, you are a sobbing mess.
Not graceful. Not composed.
Just raw and trembling.
Some of the stories are sad.
Some feel too small to matter.
Some feel too big to hold.
And yet… there is a strange comfort in the act.
Because when you write it down, you hold yourself.
You hug the parts of you that no one else can reach.
You say to yourself:
I see you. I am here. You are not alone in this body, in this mind.
It is private.
It is sacred.
And it is misunderstood.
Some people will read it and take it as criticism.
As an attack.
As if your story is about them instead of you.
But you know the truth:
it is about you.
It is about the small, unseen, trembling victories of surviving.
The grief that doesn’t make sense to anyone but you.
The heart that keeps beating even when it wants to stop.
Writing is not just words on paper.
It is a witness to yourself.
A place where every feeling is allowed,
every tear has meaning,
and every hidden part of your soul finally breathes.
